Xizi Wang is an extremely versatile musician who continuously seeks new ways of expression and is firmly rooted in the world of music. As an award-winning percussionist and conductor, she lives her passion and constantly strives for creative development. In the 22/23 season, Wang led the International Ensemble Modern Academy Frankfurt and captivated the audience at the Luzern Festival in the summer of 2023 with the LFCO. Since 2024, she has been the principal conductor of the Studio Dan ensemble.

As one of the few permanently employed solo timpanists in a German cultural orchestra, Wang has collaborated with world-renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the HR-Sinfonie Orchester Frankfurt, and the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Her impressive solo performances have charmed audiences with ensembles such as the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and the Philharmonic Orchestra Cottbus.

As a conductor, she works with prestigious orchestras like the Luzern Festival Contemporary Orchestra (LFCO), the Orchestra Society of the Friends of Music Vienna and the Young German Philharmonic, as well as with significant ensembles such as Studio Dan, Ensemble Modern and Ensemble Schallfeld. Furthermore, she has collaborated as an assistant conductor with renowned conductors such as Ingo Metzmacher, Ilan Volkov, Enno Poppe and Susanne Mälkki.
